Change.org petition crosses 100000 for Google Reader

Google recently announce that by 1st July Google reader will be discontinued. Since then its following has been trying everything to effect Google's decision, and one of the most influential one is a petition initiated in change.org. Within two days, some 100,000 people signed this petition.

Unlike the white house petition which is bounding on the US government, change.org petition possibly won't get any feedback from Google. However this statistic still shows that many people are concerned. According to the latest figure, the number has already got 150,000 signatures.

Recall the cell phone unlock petition, it took one month to get 100,000 people to participate. Of course only US citizens are allowed to sign that one. BUt this still means lots of people care.

As of writing, Google did give a response to TNW, in the comment Google said that they have already announce the decision on its official blog and Google reader blog as well as reason and plans, they will continue to communicate with users directly.

It means no hope. When it's gone, it's gone.
